As a child of the 80s I have fond memories of MacGyver. So it was especially exciting to work on this web project licensed from CBS. As the manager of both tv and web for Goliath Games and Pressman Toy, I was tasked with developing a website that could be used as a companion to the box-game we were releasing for 2018. At first, I was going to out-source to the development team that supports our Holland office. But with a website of this magnitude, I was worried about how revisions and support would work with such a huge time zone difference. Therefore, I hired a local team called File Not Found Studio who I’d worked with before.
Working with the MacGyver Game project manager, I put together a preliminary technical brief and worked as the liaison between our company and the developers. As art work was being created, I would forwarded it to the designers. Additionally, CBS purchased the domain and I verified with our company’s web hosting service that our current plan could handle the influx of web traffic. Once the site was near completion, I added the domain to our web hosting, and worked directly with CBS’ IT department to point their domain to our proper dns servers. After tweaking the A record, the website went live on time for the game’s August 2018 retail release.
